Our parish family is seeking a part-time Pastoral Assistant. The purpose of this position is to provide quality faith formation and sacramental preparation for the youth of the parish.
This part-time position will be in charge of Sacramental preparation for:
Assures a hospitable and welcoming presence for parish visitors. Provides general support and back up for front desk and administrative assistance when needed or assigned.
Assures the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for youth programming including youth group, service projects, conferences, and retreats.
Assures the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for Sacramental preparation including: First Reconciliation, First Communion, OCIC and Confirmation preparation.
Directs the Sacramental Preparation programs for children for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, OCIC and Youth Confirmation Preparation programs. Help plan liturgies for those sacraments. Support and update parents to aid their sacramental journey.
Participate in recruiting volunteers necessary to ensure the safety of all the participants in Sacramental Preparation and youth programs as well as recruiting and developing volunteers who can effectively witness the faith to the children and youth of the parish.
Responsibly steward of the parish’s resources and manage applicable budgets in collaboration with Pastor.
Participate in deanery events with colleagues from other parishes and work to ensure a reasonable degree of continuity with nearby parishes.
Maintain a current level of knowledge and skills required to function as an assistant for Sacramental Preparation and Youth Ministry.
Use ParishStaq for communicating with participants, help parishioners use ParishStaq for registration, forms and other needs.
Performs other duties as assigned for the Pastor, Vicar or DOO.
