Earlier this year, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops wrote to the Vatican seeking clarification about Holy Days of Obligations, when they fall on a Sunday. The Vatican has clarified that in instances where the Holy Day of Obligation falls on a Sunday, the obligation to attend Mass for the Holy Day will be transferred to the following Monday. The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception will be celebrated on Monday, December 9.
