St. Rose is Hiring!

For the last several years, Claudia Alvarez has served our parishes as a staff member. She is our parish secretary and directs our children’s faith formation programs, including Vacation Bible School and sacramental preparation for first reconciliation and first communion. She has done her jobs here incredibly well, but she has decided that it’s time for her to make a change and head in a new direction in her life.

I want to thank Claudia. She was a wonderful employee and we will miss her terribly. Not only did she do her jobs well, but she always had a positive attitude and a warm smile. When many of our parishioners came to the parish for help through life’s many difficulties, she was right there to warmly greet them. If you see her in the next few weeks, please thank her personally for everything she has done.

This also means, of course, that we need to hire new staff members to serve her roles. The first position we need to hire is “Parish Secretary.” The ideal candidate for this position is a practicing Catholic who is bilingual in English and Spanish, is very organized and has attention to detail. They must be very friendly, courteous and able to provide a welcoming environment for anyone who comes to St. Rose seeking any type of assistance. This is a 32 hour a week position with full benefits.

Another position we will need to fill immediately is our “Pastoral Assistant for Children’s Faith Formation.” The Pastoral Assistant for Children’s faith formation is responsible for directing religious education and sacramental preparation programs for our students from Kindergarten to 5th grade. This position also requires a bilingual speaker. It is going to be a 15-20 hour a week position and will not include benefits.

We have some praying to do. First, please pray for Claudia and her family as Claudia transitions out of her roles here at our parishes. Also, please pray for our parishes. Pray that somebody wonderful will come to fill these roles so that we can continue to proclaim the resurrection to the people of Cowlitz County.
